Amber. Ladies. Sex. Vegetarian.

So this is my life. And I'm both happy and sad. And I'm still trying to figure out how that could be.

BUT ARE THEY GAY SKELETONS??? BECAUSE I CAN’T BE HAVING THAT KIND OF FILTH ON MY BLOG!

Who cares? Look how happy they are!

It’s just that I have never seen such enormous boners. They’re so hard for each other.

Uhm, excuse me, but is that a washing machine in the kitchen in the second pic? What even?!

In London at least, if not most of England, if not Europe… they put clothes washers in the kitchen. And then blink at you and say, “Well, where else would you put it? The bathroom?”  I know. I know. Believe me.

As and English person I can attest to this. My washing machine is in my kitchen. Everyone I know, all over the UK and expats in Europe, keeps their washing machine in their kitchen. Where do you dear Americans keep yours? I am utterly confused - it seems a perfectly logical place to keep a washing machine!

I had the option to put mine either in my kitchen or my bathroom. Because it was handier for the space, I opted for the bathroom.

i love how there’s pictures of skeleton sex and everyone’s talking about washing machines

Okay, I just need to know, Americans do you really put your washing machines in your bathroom. How do your bathrooms have the space for a washing machine. I mean, maybe I’ve just had oddly small bathrooms my whole life, in all the bathrooms I’ve had (which is five bathrooms to date) you’d never be able to comfortably fit a washing machine in there.

As a Brit, I never thought the washing-machine-in-the-kitchen thing was weird, even though for my entire childhood ours was in the bathroom. We had a big bathroom though.

However, I’ve moved to Australia now and discovered something radical: Here, it’s most common to locate the washing machine (and tumble dryer, too) in a dedicated room called “The Laundry”. I swear, you couldn’t make this stuff up.

What is wrong with you people???  We have laundry rooms.  Rooms dedicated solely to washing, drying, and even folding our laundry.  EXTRAVAGANT!

^THANK YOU. Throughout this whole conversation I felt like I was watching a table of people debate this, and I’m just sitting there quietly like “Do they not know? Should I say it?” Really, guys!

I don’t usually leave the text but this is priceless.

FINALLY someone mentions a Laundry Room. Why in the world would you put a washing machine in another room? My laundry room even has large shelves installed as a place to put the clean, folded clothes. I pity the folk doing laundry in their kitchens or bathrooms.

Are you kidding me? Laundry rooms? Laundry ROOMS? You can afford to devote floorspace exclusively for laundry?

You guys must live in palaces. *sob*

Wait, are you people actualy serious with the machines in kitchen? Because I honestly can’t tell

That shit is real, honey. Blizzeh has it there. Also, the previous owner of our apartment had their washing machine in the kitchen, too. They were from Sudan, though, so we can try to blame it on exotic customs XD

I personally am a follower of the bathroom washing machine, feels weird having it elsewhere.

(and c’mon, after knowing people from other countries walk in their houses and apartments WITH THEIR SHOES ON this is what surprises you??? :D)

oh, here’s a thought — WHY AREN’T WE TALKING ABOUT THE SKELETONS HAVING SEX

In Australia the places that have dedicated laundries (I don’t, since I live in a flat — that’s an apartment, btw — so my washing machine’s in the bathroom) often have them in semi-outdoor spaces, like the garden shed or attached to the back door. Which means a) your electrical cables and outlets and applianes are often exposed to all sorts of weathery stuff that electricity should really be kept away from! and b) SPIDERS. Also lizards and possums and snakes and rats! Seriously if I could count the number of childhood instances of “I don’t want to put the wash out! There’s a giant huntsman near the lid!” “It’s more scared of you than you are of it, stop trying to get out of hanging the washing”… the count would be a high number.

The place we’re in right now is so small that the washing machine is in the kitchen, and it’s fucking weird.

But y, my experience is generally a semi-covered area outside the back door, or a room; once the washing machine and the tub are there the remaining space is often exactly as wide as the doorways, so it’s more of a glorified hallway than a legit room.

It may be worth mentioning that dryers aren’t that common to my experience either, though?  The way we do it makes sense when you take that into consideration.  The closer to the back door it is, the less far you have to lug wet washing to the line.  Shit’s heavy :|

You know, I think the placement of the washing machine and other cleaning apparatus really depends on the layout of the living situation. For instance, if you’re got a living room right next to the kitchen, I think it makes perfect sense to have the laundry stuff in there. Then you can take it out to the living room for folding while having an after-laundry snack. And if you spill sauce all over your clothes, you can just take them off and wash them and either put on clean clothes or just cook naked (either way is fine, really).

we have the washing machine in the kitchen and the ironing board and stuff in my parents room because there is literally nowhere else in the house to put them. so since its a townhouse youve got to go down 2 flights of stairs to wash the clothes then drag them back up to iron. i know english houses tend to be small on average but youd have a pretty nice damn house to have a whole room just for your laundry, geeeeeez.

We put them wherever they fit here in Canada, but I must admit, I’ve never seen them in the kitchen. We usually put them in the laundry room or the basement.

The laundry rooms are really small though, and are usually just off the kitchen or something and are meant for storing things as well as having the hook ups for the washer and dryer. There’s really nothing great about them…they’re kind of standard when building houses here. It just keeps the laundry and cleaning supplies and stuff out of the way.

Although at my mom’s and grandmother’s houses they’re in the basement.
